Wallace State Women Cruise to 85-37 Victory Over Chattanooga State

Wallace State women's basketball continued its hot start to the 2025-26 season with a commanding 85-37 win over Chattanooga State on Monday night. The Lions opened the game on a 10-0 run and never looked back, putting together one of their most complete performances of the young season.
Wallace State jumped out to a 24-11 lead after the first quarter and extended the margin to 49-20 by halftime. By the time the third quarter ended, the Lions had built a 71-27 advantage and were firmly in control.
Taylor Smith led the charge with 15 points, six rebounds, and three blocks, showing her versatility on both ends of the floor. Nia Smith added 12 points, eight rebounds, and two steals, while guards Kameron Sanders and Zamyra Goode each chipped in 10 points. Sanders also dished out a team-high eight assists, and Goode grabbed seven rebounds to go along with her double-digit scoring night.
The Lions' depth was on full display as Idaysia Mercer and Sinaya Gibson each scored nine points, and Leah Childress added eight.
With the win, Wallace State improves to 2-0 on the season and will look to stay unbeaten when they travel to East Mississippi Community College on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
