Flag Football Sweeps Calhoun with Dominant Road Victories

DECATUR, Ala. — Wallace State flag football stayed unbeaten in conference play on Sunday, rolling to a pair of convincing road wins over Calhoun at the Jack Allen Recreation Complex. The Lions opened the afternoon with a 53-13 victory in Game 1 before completing the sweep with a 57-0 shutout in Game 2.
Game 1: Lions Overpower Warhawks, 53-13
Wallace State wasted little time setting the tone, as quarterback Emma Kile connected with Ma'Kyla Williams on a 4-yard touchdown to cap the Lions' second possession. A defensive spark followed when ZaNiya Mitchell picked off a Calhoun pass and returned it to the five-yard line, setting up Mariah Ragland's touchdown run that stretched the lead to 13-0.
The Lions' offense exploded in the second quarter. Destinee Ealy turned a tipped pass into a 47-yard touchdown, and Kile later found Taylor Kindred on a 26-yard strike for a 29-0 advantage. Calhoun answered with a score early in the third, but Wallace countered quickly as Kile hit Telecia Ransom on a 35-yard touchdown.
The Warhawks briefly cut into the margin with a defensive score, but the Lions dominated the final stretch. Kile connected with Ragland on a 51-yard bomb, hit Ealy for a 17-yard score, and capped the day with a 3-yard touchdown to Ransom as time expired.

Kile opened the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run, then found Ealy on a 38-yard strike. After a Rudolph interception, Kile hit Kindred for a 26-yard score before Kindred added a pick-six of his own to push the lead to 28-0.
