The Wallace State volleyball team continued its strong start to conference play on Thursday, sweeping Northwest-Shoals in a pair of home matches. The Lions earned a 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17) victory in the opener before closing the day with another 3-0 win (25-15, 25-8, 25-22).
With the two wins, Wallace State improved to 15-2 overall and 5-0 in ACCC play, extending its conference unbeaten streak.
Offensively, Sofiia Sobol paced the Lions with 25 kills across the two matches, while Kenzie Noles added 20 kills. Ali Price directed the attack with 67 assists, continuing her steady leadership as a setter.
Head coach Randy Daniel praised his team for fighting through a challenging stretch of matches.
“It was good to win two conference games at home. It was more of a mental battle because of the games we’ve had in three days. We are not physically where we prefer to be at this time due to numerous games and injuries. But the team fought hard and pulled out two sweeps,” Daniel said.
He also noted that Wallace State consistently gets the best effort from its opponents:
“We are always facing motivated teams to play us because of our tradition, which is the best position to be in.”
The Lions now turn their attention to a road conference match at Snead State in Boaz on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Following that, Wallace State will host its annual Fall Bash Tournament at the Cullman Omniplex on Friday and Saturday.
Up Next: Wallace State Fall Bash
After Wednesday’s trip to Snead State, Wallace State will host its annual Fall Bash
Tournament at the Cullman Civic Center Omniplex on Friday and Saturday. The two-day

for the Fall Bash include Bevill State, Itawamba (MS), Vincennes (IN), and Walters
State (TN).
Head coach Randy Daniel said the Fall Bash is always a highlight of the season, providing competitive tests for his team and a showcase atmosphere for volleyball fans in North Alabama. Wallace State enters the tournament with momentum, looking to build on its unbeaten conference record and continue sharpening for the stretch run.
