#7 Wallace State Splits with Northeast in Doubleheader
                     The number seven-ranked Wallace State Lions hosted the Northeast Mustangs. Wallace
                        State won the first game 2-1 but fell by a score of 2-11 in the second.
                     
                     The Lions are now 21-6 overall with a conference record of 5-1. The Mustangs leave
                        with a 12-6 record.
                     
                     Game 1: Wallace State 2, Northeast 1
                     
                     The Mustangs' Kimber Craig got Northeast on the board first, hitting an RBI single
                        in the top of the 1st inning. Wallace State responded quickly in the bottom of the
                        1st when Charli Kyser hit a single to center field to bat in Tenayja Thomas.
                     
                     The pitching duel heated up as neither team scored again until the sixth inning.
                     
                     Brandy Phillips got the bottom of the sixth started for the Lions when she hit a line drive to center
                        field for a single. Kyser then drew a walk on a 3-1 count. They advanced on a fielder's
                        choice. Phillips reached home as Leah Graves hit a sac fly to left field to take a 2-1 lead for Wallace State.
                     
                     The game ended in thrilling fashion as Northeast quickly loaded the bases in the top
                        of the seventh inning with one out. The Mustangs then popped out to record the second
                        out. Northeast's next batter grounded out to 3rd baseman Graves to seal the deal.
                     
                     Game 2: Northeast 11, Wallace State 2
                     
                     The Lions' Ashlyn Burns went 2 for 4 including a double. Thomas and Graves also recorded two hits each in
                        the game against the Mustangs. Phillips and Kyser both batted a runner in. 2nd baseman Reese Decker hit a single and scored a run for Wallace State Friday evening.
                     
                     The Wallace State Lions will travel to take on the Northeast Mustangs again on Sunday.
