Hanceville, Ala. — Wallace State Community College’s Fine and Performing Arts program will present the Spring Dance Showcase on Thursday, March 20 at 7 p.m. in the Burrow Center Recital Hall.
The annual showcase intitled “Together We Dance Festival” allows Wallace State Dance students to plan, choreograph and design a full dance production as part of their training and lessons.
Admission to the performance is a suggested donation of $10. All proceeds benefit the dance program, providing funds for outreach programs, scholarship opportunities and master class teachers.
“This performance is a wonderful opportunity for our students to utilize what they have learned in class and gives them hands-on experience in what it takes to produce a show,” said Brooke Desnoes, Wallace State Dance instructor. “The students are in charge of all aspects of the show, from selecting the music, to choreography, lighting and even promotion.”
Other upcoming shows offered by the Wallace State Fine and Performing Arts programs include:
- April 3: Solo & Chamber Ensemble Recital, Burrow Center Recital Hall
- April 11-13: Little Women, Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre
- April 18: Big Band Dance, Burrow Center
