$68,000 in scholarships provided to Wallace State students

Hanceville, Ala. — Wallace State Community College announced it received $68,0000 provided by the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) for scholarships for students who want to pursue a technical education or associate degree in the automotive manufacturing industry. The scholarship program is designed to build interest in the exciting and rewarding careers the automotive industry offers.

"These scholarships represent a significant investment in the future of our students and the automotive manufacturing industry," said Jerry Murks, Dean of Applied Technologies at Wallace State. "We are proud to partner with AAMA and ACCS to provide our students with the resources they need to succeed in high-demand technical fields, and we are confident they will make meaningful contributions to this vital industry."

Seventeen Wallace State student will receive $4,000 each, which will cover tuition, fees and books associated with the approved programs of study in the 2025 fiscal year (Spring, Summer and Fall 2025).

The approved programs of study include: Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Machining/Machine Tool/CNC, Automotive Service Technology, Engineering Technology, Robotic Welding Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing Technology.

The Spring 2025 semester is underway, Mini Term II classes will begin March 6. Registration and classes for Flex Start courses will be Jan. 14-21 for Flex Start I and Jan. 22-29 for Flex Start II.
