Women’s Basketball Dominates East Central 69-41
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Women’s Basketball team extended
their undefeated streak to 6-0 with a commanding 69-41 victory over East Central Community
College at Traditions Bank Arena on Saturday.
Sophomore guard Kallie Tinker led the charge with 18 points, including five three-pointers,
while freshman guard Idaysia Mercer matched her team-high 18 points with efficient
shooting (9-for-13 from the field). Freshman guard Kameron Sanders contributed 16
points and showcased her versatility on both ends of the court.
Wallace State's defense set the tone early, holding East Central to just nine points
in the first quarter while building a 21-9 lead. The Lady Lions forced 14 turnovers,
tallied 11 steals, and dominated the boards with a balanced team effort.
Wallace State’s bench also delivered key contributions, including forward Chloe Rule’s
four points and three rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
